We agree on the brand. We do not agree on the best seat—and that is exactly why we have two different GCI chairs.
I like the taller seat. My wife likes hers lower.
My larger chair has the higher, roomier seat I prefer. My wife likes her lower blue chair. Both feel great to us, and both feel stable on the ground while we enjoy the rocking motion.
Then there is Lily, who keeps taking one of our chairs. Getting her one of her own is on the list. That probably says more about their popularity at our campsite than a complicated rating system would.
They do not fold the same way

The back folds down first, then the sides squeeze together. It ends up as a flatter package.
Her blue chair
The X-style frame pulls inward into a tube-like bundle. Folded up, it can lie on top of the beach chairs.
The storage test matters as much as the sitting test
Neither feels too bulky to us. They fit nicely in our Aurora’s outdoor kitchen compartment beside the cooler and mini fridge. That is a real advantage in our setup: we do not have to enjoy the chairs all weekend and then resent them when it is time to pack.
This is a review of our two GCI chairs, not a claim that every GCI model folds this way. We have not confirmed the exact model names, so we are not attaching a purchase link or model-specific dimensions to the photos.
Would we replace them with the same chairs?
Yes—both of us would buy the same chairs again. The lesson is not that taller is better or lower is better. It is that the chair needs to feel right to the person who will sit in it, and still fit when the campsite gets packed away.
